[Introduction]

Welcome to our products and services. We fully understand the importance of personal information to you. Your trust is very important to us. We strictly comply with applicable laws and regulations and adopt appropriate security measures to protect your personal information and keep it secure and controllable. On this basis, the service provider of Zhihui API (or "we") has formulated this Zhihui API Core Features Privacy Policy (the "Policy" / "Privacy Policy") to help you fully understand how we collect, use, share, store, and protect your personal information and how you can manage your personal information when you use our products and services, so that you can make informed choices.

Before you start using our products and services, please read and understand this Policy carefully, especially the clauses marked in bold / bold underlined text, and confirm that you fully understand and agree before use. In addition to this Policy, in specific scenarios we may also inform you of the purpose, scope, and method of information collection and use through just-in-time notices (including pop-ups and page prompts), feature update notes, and similar notices. Such notices and update descriptions form an integral part of this Policy and have the same legal effect. We try to explain professional terms in this Policy in clear and plain language. If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions regarding this Policy, you may contact us through the contact methods at the end of this Policy.

Our core functions are AI assistant services, including account registration and management, online file storage and management (including file upload, online file storage and management, online file browsing/playback, file sharing, and file download), account security, and customer service. Extended functions include intelligent image search, notes, and similar features. According to the Provisions on the Scope of Necessary Personal Information for Common Types of Mobile Internet Applications, the necessary personal information for AI assistant functions is the registered user’s mobile phone number. Your consent to this core-function Privacy Policy only means that you agree to our collection and processing of necessary information for core functions. It does not mean that you agree to enable extended functions, nor does it mean that you permit us to collect or process non-essential personal information. For non-essential personal information processing, we will seek your separate consent during your use of the services. Refusing non-essential personal information collection will not affect your use of core functions.

This Privacy Policy will help you understand:

I. Scope of Application
II. Information Collection and Use
III. External Provision of Information
IV. Your Rights
V. Information Storage
VI. Policy Updates
VII. Protection of Minors
VIII. Contact Us
Appendix: Definitions

I. Scope of Application

This Policy applies to all products and services we provide to you through Zhihui API App, website (cognihub.baystoneai.com), mini programs, application programming interfaces (APIs) for third-party websites and applications, and new forms that may arise with technological development.

II. Information Collection and Use

When you use the core functions of our products/services, the personal information (or permissions) we need / may need to collect and use includes the following two categories:

1. Information you must authorize us to collect and use (or corresponding permissions you must enable) to provide core functions of our products and/or services. If you refuse to provide such information or enable such permissions, you will not be able to use our products and/or services properly.

2. Information you may separately choose to agree or disagree with us collecting and using (or corresponding permissions you may choose to enable) to provide core functions of our products and/or services. If you refuse to provide such information or enable such permissions, some functions may not achieve the intended effect, but this will not affect your use of core functions.

Because we provide many kinds of products and services, depending on your choices, the core functions and the types/scope of personal information collected and used may differ. For scenarios where separate consent is legally required, we will separately inform you of the purpose, method, and scope of personal information collection and use, and obtain your separate consent.

(1) Account Registration and Management

1. Basic Account Services

Scope of necessary and non-necessary information:

Account registration: We provide services based on your Zhihui API account. To create a Zhihui API account, you need to provide at least your mobile phone number. Your mobile number will be used to receive verification codes during registration, login, and password recovery, and as one of your designated contact methods with Zhihui API to receive business notices (such as new feature launches, service notices/changes, etc.). This is necessary information for this function. If you refuse to provide it, you cannot register a Zhihui API account, but you may still browse and search software/function/service information displayed on the Zhihui API website. In addition, you may set an account password based on your own preference. This is non-necessary information; if you refuse to provide it, account security capability may be reduced, but registration itself will not be affected.

Profile completion: You may choose to provide a nickname, avatar, and profile description. Your nickname and avatar may be publicly displayed. This is non-necessary information. If you do not provide it, the system will generate a default nickname and avatar.

Authorized login: To enable you to directly register, log in, and use Zhihui API through third parties, or register/log in to Zhihui API using a third-party account, we may, subject to your separate consent, obtain your third-party account information from third parties (e.g., mobile number, nickname, third-party user ID, subject to the authorization page) and bind it to your Zhihui API account (for existing users), or create and bind a Zhihui API account for you (for unregistered users). To let you conveniently register third-party accounts or directly log in to third-party products/services using your Zhihui API account, we may provide your account information (avatar, nickname, and other prompted information) to third parties after obtaining your separate consent. This is non-necessary information. Refusing authorization may reduce convenience but will not prevent you from using our services.

QR-code login: To help you log in more conveniently to other Zhihui API clients (such as web, PC, tablet, etc.), we provide QR-code login. This function requires camera permission, which is non-necessary. If you refuse, you cannot use QR-code login, but you may still log in through other allowed methods (such as account and password).

2. Identity Verification

Scope of necessary and non-necessary information:

To comply with legal/regulatory requirements, ensure identity authenticity, implement anti-fraud risk control, and safeguard system/service security, when you perform abnormal operations (such as sharing violating content) and are identified as risky by our risk-control model, or in other scenarios where real identity verification is required by law (such as anti-telecom fraud, administrative enforcement, or judicial proceedings), we may require identity verification. For this purpose, you need to provide your real name and ID number and authorize us to verify through a national authoritative trusted identity verification institution. We will record and retain verification information and results according to law, and use them only for verification purposes or as required by law. Without your explicit authorization, they will not be used for other purposes. This is necessary personal information. If you refuse to provide it, we cannot continue to provide AI assistant services.

(2) Online File Storage and Management Services

1. File Upload

Scope of necessary and non-necessary information:

Local file/photo upload: To provide local file and photo upload services, we need your permission to read local storage and read local photo albums (for photo upload). This is a necessary permission. If not enabled, file/photo upload cannot be provided.

Auto photo backup: To help you back up your albums to AI Assistant in time, we provide auto photo backup. This service requires local album read permission. Zhihui API will also collect added/deleted album information to back up newly added photos promptly. This is a non-necessary permission. Refusing it means photos cannot be auto-backed up to AI Assistant, but other functions are not affected. You may enable/disable the feature and view backup data at [Me - Settings - Album Backup Settings].

Auto contacts backup: To help you back up contacts to AI Assistant in time, we provide auto contacts backup. This service requires local contacts read permission. This is a non-necessary permission. Refusing it means contacts auto backup is unavailable, but other services are not affected.

2. Online File Storage and Management

Scope of necessary and non-necessary information:

File search: To help you quickly find functions, photos, and files, we provide file search. To improve search convenience, we collect your search history and display it under "Recent Searches". This is non-necessary personal information. You may delete search history at any time; deletion does not affect search function use.

Album quick organization: To help you better find and manage albums and provide interesting/story-based photo browsing experience, we provide quick album organization. Based on shooting location, object information, and person information in stored photos, the function performs intelligent grouping and generates categories such as "Footprints", "People", and "Scenery". This is non-necessary information. On the album page, click "..." in the upper-right corner and then "Album Privacy Settings" to enable/disable "Smart face grouping", "Auto memory generation", and "Smart image classification". Disabling does not affect album usage, but you will not enjoy the convenience of quick intelligent organization.

3. File Browsing and Playback

Scope of necessary and non-necessary information:

To provide online file browsing/playback, we need local storage read/write permission so that browsed/played files can be stored locally for offline reading/browsing. We also collect corresponding file names and playback/browsing records to help you quickly resume where you last stopped. The above information (or permission) is non-necessary. Refusing information or permission means this browsing/playback service is unavailable, but other services are not affected.

To ensure audio files can continue playing while the app runs in the background, when you play audio in background, Zhihui API may wake itself or associated startup via system broadcast at a certain frequency (android.intent.action.MEDIA_BUTTON), which is necessary so you can continue controlling playback in background (including previous/next track) and/or pause.

4. File Sharing

Scope of necessary and non-necessary information:

Sharing via third-party software: To help you quickly share files, we provide direct sharing to designated third-party software (such as WeChat, DingTalk, etc.). When using this function, Zhihui API checks whether the target third-party app is installed so that the app can be invoked to execute your instruction. This is non-necessary personal information. If you refuse, direct sharing to designated third-party software cannot be provided, but you can still share by copying links.

Viewing/saving files shared by others: To help you quickly view and save files shared by others, we need clipboard-read permission so Zhihui API can read share links/codes in your clipboard for quick access and saving. This is a non-necessary permission. Refusing it does not affect your ability to view/save others’ shared files; you may paste links/codes manually. You can also enable/disable this permission at [Me - Settings - Privacy Settings - Feature Management - Clipboard Settings].

5. File Download

Scope of necessary and non-necessary information:

Download files to local device: To download files stored in AI Assistant to your local device, we need local storage write permission; to download photos locally, we need local album write permission. This is a necessary permission. Refusing it means files cannot be downloaded locally.

Sync cloud contacts to local device: When using contacts backup, to sync your contacts saved in AI Assistant to local device, we need contacts write permission. This is non-necessary. Refusing it means backed-up contacts cannot be synced to your local device, but other functions are not affected.

(3) Interaction and Communication

1. Notifications

Scope of necessary and non-necessary information:

During operations, we may send one or more types of notices to contact methods you provide while using products/services (such as phone number). When sending service notices, identity verification, and security verification, this information is necessary. If you do not provide it, we may not timely notify transaction status, perform identity/security verification, or provide core services. We may also use your contact method to send commercial messages such as user research and promotional benefits. Such information is non-necessary, and you can choose whether to receive it. If you do not wish to receive it, you may unsubscribe via methods in SMS or by contacting customer service. For pop-up commercial messages, you may also close them via the "Skip" or related button. This does not affect core function use.

2. Campaign Participation

Scope of necessary and non-necessary information:

When you participate in our operational campaigns, depending on campaign form we may collect and use your relevant personal information (for example nickname, avatar, contact information, account level, etc.). This is non-necessary information. If you do not provide it, core functions are unaffected.

(4) Customer Service and Dispute Resolution

Scope of necessary and non-necessary information:

When you contact customer service, to protect your account and system security, we need necessary personal information to verify your identity. To contact you and help solve issues quickly, and to record handling plans/results, we will retain communication records, call records, and related content (including account info, other information you provide to prove facts, or your contact details). To quickly locate and resolve faults, we may also request client log information. This information is necessary for after-sales support. Without it, we may be unable to verify your identity or locate issues, and therefore unable to provide services.

(5) Security Protection

Scope of necessary and non-necessary information:

To improve security of services provided by us, our affiliates, and partners; protect you, other users, or the public from harm to person/property; better prevent phishing, fraud, network vulnerabilities, computer viruses, cyberattacks, and intrusions; and more accurately identify violations of laws/regulations or Zhihui API agreements/rules, we collect device type, device model, app crash info, service log info, device identifiers (Android ID, OAID, IDFA), software installation list info (only app-related data, such as package name and version), operating system, and network info (IP address, BSSID). We also use or combine account information and transaction information for account risk assessment, identity verification, detection/prevention of security incidents, and lawful recording, auditing, analysis, and handling measures. This is necessary information. Without it, core functions cannot be used.

(6) Experience Optimization Services

1. Permission-based experience optimization services

To provide more convenient and better products/services and improve your experience, in the following additional services we may collect and use your personal information by enabling relevant permissions. If you do not agree to enable such permissions, your use of Zhihui API core services is not affected, but you may not obtain the user experience provided by these additional services.

You may enable or disable these permissions at any time. Please note: enabling any permission means authorizing us to collect and use relevant personal information to provide corresponding services; disabling any permission means withdrawing authorization, and we will stop collecting/using related information based on that permission and stop providing corresponding services. Your decision to disable permissions does not affect previous collection/use based on your prior authorization.

You may click here to view the Description of App Permission Requests and Usage.

2. Cookies and similar technologies

(1) Retention period

We retain your personal information only for the period necessary to achieve the purposes stated in this Policy, unless laws require mandatory retention. For example, according to the Cybersecurity Law, network operators must retain relevant network logs for no less than six months.

In the event of a personal information security incident, we will also notify you as required by law about the basic situation and possible impact, measures taken/to be taken, suggestions for your own prevention and risk reduction, and remedial measures for you.
